KETS Quantum Security wins Tech-Xpo 2020

SETsquared Bristol has announced cyber security company and QTEC Alumni, KETS Quantum Security as the winner of its Tech-Xpo 2020 event.

The quantum security company prevailed over 10 other Bristol-based startups to win the ‘Best Elevator Pitch’ audience vote at the inaugural online version of  Tech-Xpo.

The event is the flagship pitch, demo, connect showcase of SETsquared Bristol, which was open to its startup members.

Established in 2016, KETS Quantum Security is said to work with partners in the telecommunications, governments, finance, data centres, and defence sectors. The company is engaged in developing technology with an objective to solve some of the biggest cyber security problems faced by some of the largest organisations by combining the power of quantum encryption technologies with the scalability and practicality of integrated, chip-based quantum photonics.

In summer 2018, the quantum security company bagged £2m in seed funding, of which half was from Innovate UK and the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

KETS Quantum Security CEO Chris Erven said: “We’re incredibly excited to win the Tech-Xpo pitch competition. It’s validation that we can no longer ignore the need to transition to quantum-safe digital security.”
